Cuttie Toes

Cute nail art for toes

Its been ages since I posted a nail art design for toe nails. So, here's one. One of the easiest nail art to do, are polka dots. You just need a little creativity and cuteness to make it pop.

I just bought a new nail polish, that is a LA Colors Nail Lacquer with Hardeners in Red Carnation. It is a very rich red and highly pigmented.  For the dots, I used San San Nail Polish in French White and a dotting tool. As you may notice, I used San San nail polishes quite a lot. It is a local brand from HBC and it only cost Php37.00 and most of their nail polishes, especially the dark shades are highly pigmented. For the bow, I used LA Colors in Black Velvet and a toothpick.

Tuxedo Nails

Zooey Deschanel is the star of the sitcom New Girl. It is a very cute and funny show.

Jessica "Jess" Day (Zooey Deschanel) is an adorable, bubbly young woman who teaches at a Los Angeles middle school. Jess begins looking for a new place to live after breaking up with her boyfriend. She answers an ad for a new roommate on Craigslist, and moves in with three young men: Nick, Schmidt, and Coach. Shortly after moving in, Coach moves out and is replaced by Winston, another man who had previously lived in the apartment with Nick and Schmidt. Cece, Jessica's childhood best friend and a fashion model, also appears in various episodes in the storyline.

New Girl has received favorable responses from critics since its conception, many giving particular praise for Deschanel's performance. On December 15, 2011, the show was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy and Deschanel was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Television Series Musical or Comedy. The series received five 2012 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, including "Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series" for Deschanel, "Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series" for Greenfield, "Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series", "Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series" and "Outstanding Main Title Design". *

This is my version of it.

I used Jocarste Nail Polish no. 6968 as my base color, it is a very shimmery nude with a hint of pink. For the bow tie and everything else, I used LA Colors Nail Lacquer in Black Velvet and a toothpick to achieve the design. LA Color Black Velvet is my favorite black nail polish because it is highly pigmented and it only cost less than a hundred pesos, here in the Philippines.

Happy Birthday Fatima!

I made this nail art design a year ago and uploaded it on facebook as a greeting to my best friend Fatima from Singapore.

And here’s how I did this:

First, I used SanSan Nail Polish in Warm Blue for my base color. Next, I made the balloons on my Index Finger and little finger or pinky using a dotting tool.

Here are the nail polishes I used:

For the green balloons, BNC #630
For the blue balloons, BNC blue #611
For the orange balloons, Caronia Nail Polish in Sun Kissed
For the yellow balloons, Caronia Nail Polish in Sweet Surprise
For the red balloons, Caronia Nail Polish in Brick Red
And for the white strings of the balloons, I used BNC 2-way nail art brush and pen.

Then, I applied Caronia Frosted Nail Polish in Platinum Glitter on my thumb, index and middle fingers for a glitter effect.

Fourth, I wrote my greetings on my index and middle fingers using a thin nail art brush and SanSan nail polish in Luxury Black.

Lastly, I protected my design using a clear topcoat.

Hello Kitty Fimo Sticks

I love hello kitty.

They are very cute and charming. At first, I thought that it would be very easy to draw, since its just few dots for the eyes and nose and the whiskers. I thought wrong. You should have the right proportions to it to make it look like hello kitty, or else it will look like a trying hard to be cute cat. Hahaha ;)

Since I am still learning to draw hello kitty for now, I used Hello Kitty Fimo Sticks or some called it Fimo Canes. Slice it thinly as possible or you could also get it on nail art stores sliced already. The thinner your slice, the better it sits on your nails. It is quite difficult to get the perfect slice so don’t be disheartened if you didn’t get uniform slices. Just practice and you could get the perfect cut. To attach the Fimo slices, you could use nail art glue or just a clear nail polish. Let it dry and you are done.
